#GivingTuesday - 2019 Fundraiser for Hands & Voices
ADCO has been a proud supporter of Hands & Voices for the full five years that I have owned this business. However, we have not taken the opportunity to explain why this particular organization is in the hearts of our entire team. This holiday season we have modified our annual fundraiser for Hands & Voices to increase the contribution amount and further support their mission.
Before Giving Tuesday is upon us, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Hands & Voices and explain why we support their efforts each and every year. Hands & Voices is a national non-profit, parent-driven organization that is dedicated to supporting families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. They are non-biased about communication methodologies and believe that families can make the best choices for their child if they have access to information and support. This is why I personally believe in the mission of Hands & Voices. Parenting is hard, and when you add in the complexity of having a child with hearing loss, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. Not knowing where to turn for help, answers, or even a shoulder to lean on can be a lonely journey. This organization has been working to make sure that families have the support that they need; judgment-free.
Day after day I see the impact that hearing loss has on people in our society. Whether it’s a newborn trying to make sense of their new world, a teenager looking to fit in, or an older adult seeking solutions – hearing loss can take its toll on anyone. It is our mission at ADCO to help you navigate the product-based solutions that are available; to help you and your family understand how to address the challenges faced as a result of a hearing loss. This falls in line harmoniously with the mission of Hands & Voices. As a result, I find myself sharing their story with people on a near-daily basis.
To celebrate their work, and help fund the resources that they provide to parents across this country, ADCO will be donating 50% of all retail profits raised on Giving Tuesday (December 3rd, 2019).
